This plant has no mythology connected to it. Some say the fruit was created when Ralzakark raped Dorasta and she invoked Gorgorma to spit out his unwanted seed.

The Death Weed is found in Hell Wood in Dorastor and is rarely found elsewhere. Some examples have been found in the other woods in Dorastor, but they are very rare indeed. The plant has never been found in Poisonthorn Wood. Even in Hellwood it is rare as it finds it difficult to attract prey, most animals learn its ways and steer clear of it.

This is a large plant, having a central bulb that can reach several metres in diameter and long tendrils that can stretch up to a dozen metres. Around the central bulb are many small filaments and the bulb can open to a large central maw. During Sea Season and Fire Season the bulb is covered in tiny multi-coloured flowers and gives off an alluring scent. During Earth Season a fruit appears that attraxts birds to it.

The tendrils are stingers that paralyse the unwary and draw the corpse to rot and feed the earth. The filaments are poisonous and cause a fast and searing death to all who touch them. The bulb opens to a maw that can trap and consume small animals. The flowers cause instant death when eaten. The sap is a corrosive venom that burns flesh. The Weed can move slowly on its woody roots and has even been known to climb. When eaten, the Weed's leaves and stems are poisonous and cause the corpse to decay and emit a stench that attracts other Dorastoran Death Weeds. Only the fruit is not poisonous and in fact it cures all poisons when eaten, each fruit has 4 doses.

The Death Weed can grow huge and can even threaten people when large. The Potency of their poisons depends on their size and the season. Normally, POT = SIZ, but in Fire and Earth Seasons, POT = SIZx2 and in Dark and Storm Season, POT=SIZ / 2. SIZ, CON and STR are 6D6 per metre diameter of the bulb and it can move at SIZ / 10. The bulb has HP = SIZ + CON and each tendril has HP = Bulb HP / 10. The Weed has AP = SIZ / 5. A Death Weed has a 5% chance of having a Chaos Feature, but if it has a feature it has a 50% chance of having another.

There are examples of Death Weeds that have bulbs of 10m in diameter and these can swallow horses and their riders in one massive bite.
